I've voted "copyright". For the most of my works i use a creative commons license which allows to use my work except for commercial use. The uploading date profs that i am the owner and additionally i lower the resolution a bit.
To the deviantart watermarks can i say that i really don't like them. In principle i didn't fave pictures with a da watermark and i don't comment on them.
